The integrity and continuity of supply is critical to large infrastructure facilities and operations such as airports. This means switchgear protection can be complex and challenging in design, installation and commissioning.
NSS Ltd were employed to test and cold commission a number of 11kV switchboards manufactured by Hawker Siddeley Switchgear. The switchboards varied in size and complexity but all the substations were equipped using the Eclipse range of fixed pattern switchgear. The test and cold commissioning included standard tests such as CT magnetisation curves, CT primary injection, Pressure tests etc..,. In addition directional testing and blocking schemes were fully tested and proved.
