INEOS Case Study

Client: Ineos ChlorVinyls
Site: Weston Point, Runcorn

Ineos ChlorVinyls approached NSS Ltd to modify and upgrade an existing BVP17 11kV 400A circuit breaker to allow use as a feeder to a new 2.4MW compressor substation. Mechanical design and electrical schematic CAD drawings were produced for client approval prior to a new low voltage cabinet being manufactured offsite. The new cabinet employed the latest electronic protection relays and associated equipment. In addition the solenoid operated, oil filled circuit breaker was fully over hauled and tested in our workshop.

A minimum of 75% of this work was completed in our Manchester facility reducing the required electrical outage time on-site to minimum, which also mitigated the risk of trip to Ineos ChlorVinyls process facility.

NSS completed the site works on schedule, the panel was witness tested by Ineos and handed over with the minimum of disruption and time need by Ineos staff.
